![]() ![]() I have challenged them on this and I was told they will call me back after more research. I've placed a call with Microsoft and they are trying to tell me that this behavior is expected. Obviously, logging in as a domain admin or disjoining from the domain to all the user's PC's in the environment to upgrade isn't a viable solution. If I put the machine back on the domain and log into the machine as a domain admin, I do not get the error. If I take the machine off the domain and log in as local admin, I do not get the error. The machine currently is already activated.Īfter mounting the ISO and running setup, I get the message unable to validate the product key. The goal is to upgrade a PC with Windows 10 Enterprise ver 1607 to Windows 10 Enterprise ver 1703 while the machine is logged in as a domain user who is a local administrator.
